Dino D’Santiago, Ana Malhoa and Quim Barreiros are the singers who will liven up the Feiras Francas, which are scheduled to return from the 15th to the 19th of May, the Municipality of Fafe announced today.

This year’s edition keeps Parque da Cidade as the center of celebrations and offers a full five-day program. The poster also features challenging songs, a folklore festival, fado, street entertainment, scenes from rural life, a livestock competition, ox rivalry and horse racing.

“The Municipality of Fafe designed a popular and festive programming, which emphasizes rurality and local traditions, but does not forget the youngest to whom many moments of nightlife are dedicated with the presence of popular artists – DJs”, they say, in a statement.

The Free Trade Fairs start on Wednesday, the day before a public holiday, day 15with the inauguration of the Rural Expo, at 6:00 pm, followed by moments of entertainment by CERCIFAF Drums, Rusga de Concertinas, Cantares ao Desafio with Liliana Oliveira. The day ends with the singer’s performance Ana Malhoa on the main stage at Parque da Cidade, at 10pm, followed by DJs Ricardo Mendez and DJ John Dyas.

On the municipal holiday, May 16the program starts with the realization of the Cavalar Cattle Fair at Parque da Cidade, from 9 am. The Bombos will liven up the city during the morning and in the early afternoon the traditional Folklore Festival. A Enough of the Bulls, which will take place at Parque da Cidade, is scheduled for 4:30 pm. At the end of the afternoon, a musical program begins with a performance by the Ribeiro group and the Concertinas and moments dedicated to Fado. Quim Barreiros, one of the most popular and beloved musicians by the public, performs on the Main Stage at 9:30 pm. The day ends with the launch of fireworks, at the Clock Tower, at 11pm.

At Friday (17)the program includes the Livestock Competitionthe traditional Horse racing at pace and the Folklore Festival. Throughout the day, children from schools in the municipality will have the opportunity to visit the Rural Expo, involving schools in celebrating the Fairs. For young audiences and beyond, DJ Kyd3n and Dubio’s DJ set are scheduled to perform from midnight onwards.

O weekend brings more animation to Fafe, with emphasis on the spectacle of Dino D’Santiago on Saturday night. The day will be dedicated, above all, to music with performances by Bombos, ARPIFAFE, AAPAEIF, Tuna Masculina IEES, Tuna Feminina IEES, Memórias Vivas, Liliana Oliveira com Banda, Dj Cozta and Dupla Mete Cá Sets.

The last day of the Free Trade Fairs is, as usual, marked by the performances of the Revelhe Philharmonic Band and the Golães Philharmonic Band, in the Arcada.

The Rural Expo and Praça dos Petiscos are part of the program over the five days, offering moments of leisure and conviviality for visitors.

The organization of the event is the responsibility of the Municipality of Fafe, which has the support of several entities, namely the Cooperative of Agricultural Producers of Fafe (CoFafe), which is responsible for organizing the entire program related to agricultural activity, exhibition and rural activity present in the initiative.
