Benfica will defend the title won last season. The Eagles already have three League Cups, in four editions completed. Sporting are looking for their first trophy in this competition.
“We have quality, we have competence, we will give everything”, guarantees Sporting coach, Mariana Cabral, who makes an appetizing promise to the squad.
“I’m looking forward to buying these girls dinner, let’s see if I can do it”, says Mariana Cabral. “We will charge and it will be in the most expensive place”, responds Ana Borges.
Benfica has already won the Super Cup this season, leads the national championship, is in the Portuguese Cup final and made history in the Champions League. The stage is good, but there is still room for improvement.
“We can have a season of excellence or one that is not so good for the club’s objectives, which is to win everything”, emphasizes the Eagles’ coach, Filipa Patão. “Our desire is always to triumph in all competitions. This is what has driven us daily”, says player Andreia Faria.
It is the sixth time that the teams will face each other this season. The final of the Women’s League Cup starts at 5:45 pm, at Estádio do Restelo, and will be broadcast on SIC.
