With a handful of carnations in his hand, César Cordeiro, who in 1974 was just two years old, vaguely remembers “hearing my mother say that there was a revolution taking place in Lisbon”. After 50 years, this Vila Real man speaks of “a very special date for the country” and hopes, among other things, that women “earn the same as men”, remembering that, “before 1974, many women only left home with the men’s permission. They were the ones in charge.”
