“Sustainable Alqueva” Program awards awards

The Alqueva Sustentável 2023 awards are scheduled for this Thursday.

The event, organized by EDIA and CONSULAI, is part of the Ovibeja program, and will take place in the ACOS auditorium, starting at 4:00 pm.

This is an initiative aimed at farmers in the Alqueva region, with the aim of promoting the sustainability of the primary sector in this territory, reveals EDIA, in a statement.

The same source adds that “the program, which is based on two main axes, self-assessment and the creation of performance indicators, allows farmers to have an overview of their property, indicating the areas of the business that require improvement, as well as corresponding good practices”.

In 2023, 30 applications were submitted to the Alqueva Sustainable Program.

The awards, which are based on the three pillars of sustainability: environmental, economic and social, aim to encourage the development of strategies for the adoption of good agricultural and animal welfare practices, promotion of biodiversity and contribution to the existence of healthy ecosystems, differentiating the Alqueva space from other geographies with excellent productions
