The performance of the play, scheduled for 5pm next Sunday, is part of the Braga En’Cena program, which runs from April to October this year, in that performance hall, aiming to promote and develop theater in the municipality.

All the comedies in the aforementioned saga, which are subtitled Conjugal Fun in 1 Act, place the couple formed by Beto and Bela at the center of a troubled conjugal relationship by a shadow couple, made up of Toni and Etelvina, who establishes a relationship with them profoundly toxic social and emotional relationship. And if the celebration of the first anniversary had already gone badly, the celebration of the second went badly. So, in order to put an end to the shadow couple’s problem once and for all, they decide to never celebrate wedding anniversaries again.

And so, on the day of their 25th wedding anniversary, Beto and Bela decide to choose the most unlikely program to celebrate wedding anniversaries and the most unlikely to be haunted again by the shadow couple. The plan works perfectly, until the moment when the unbelievable happens: the shadow couple walks towards them, forcing them to make a strategic retreat into a hiding place, according to a strategy that, unfortunately, resulted in a large tent. And so, from tent to tent, the final catastrophe arrives!

With text and direction by Fernando Pinheiro, O Aniversário do Casamento III is, therefore, a light comedy in 1 act that is seen as a corollary to Beto and Bela’s birthday saga, which began with a trip to Senhor da Pedra and continued with a dinner ceremony in the apartment. In his relationship with the couple Toni/Etelvina, he triggers a whole burlesque exercise on the collective imagination of people who are an integral part of this larger entity commonly called the people.

Among the social game that, however, takes place with other characters in addition to the two couples, namely with a Brazilian citizen and an English tourist, subjects are discussed ranging from dark humor and simple anecdotes to the discussion of issues related to economic justice, the mismatch of affections, the irresponsibility of individual behaviors, cultural prejudices, religious decadence and much more. Therefore, next Sunday, a representation of popular everyday life will take to the stage at Theatro Circo, with which any spectator will be able to identify, if possible, laughing, because someone has said that laughter is the most necessary thing in people’s lives .
