Azores brand represented for the first time at the Estremoz International Agricultural Fair – Communication

Azorean products are, for the first time, represented at the Estremoz International Agricultural Fair (FIAPE), which runs until Sunday in that municipality’s Fair and Exhibition Park.

In this 36th edition of that event, the Azores have an institutional stand, where cheeses and wines produced on various islands in the archipelago and which bear the Azores brand seal are available.

For the Regional Secretary of Agriculture and Food, “having the Autonomous Region of the Azores represented in the promotion and economic valorization of its products is an honor and represents an excellent opportunity for the exhibition and commercialization of Azorean products, taking into account the thousands of visitors who annually are present at that event.”

“The Government of the Azores assumes the Azores Brand as one of the pillars driving the internal and external promotion of the Region”, says António Ventura.

And he continues: “the identification of the Region through a brand synonymous with quality, which differentiates the product based on the most distinctive attributes of the Azores, such as nature, high environmental value, diversity and natural exclusivity, represents an undeniable importance in the success of a strategy of market access and loyalty, which allows for added value to Azorean products and services and promotes the economic base for export”.

At the inauguration of the event, the president of the Chamber of Estremoz, José Manuel Sádio considered the initiative of the Regional Secretariat for Agriculture and Food to be “of great importance”, both because of the attraction that the Azores archipelago exerts on the Alentejo population, and because of the “opportunity to establishment of a path of cooperation between both Regions, which have high agricultural potential”.

The Estremoz International Agricultural Fair is an initiative organized by the Estremoz City Council and ACORE – Association of Sheep Breeders of the Estremoz Region, being one of the largest of its kind in the Alentejo.

In addition to livestock exhibitions and competitions, it also offers displays of economic activities and musical shows.
