Dissatisfaction with the accumulated waste and dirt in containers, which have not been washed for months, is increasingly noticeable. The matter returned to the municipal assembly about a month after the service was again awarded for 10 million to the company that has been providing it for 20 years in the municipality of Azambuja.
All over the municipality and more notably in the town of Azambuja, there have been constraints in collecting monos, and washing and disinfecting containers. The problem is not new and has repeatedly led to complaints of dissatisfaction from residents and local mayors who, at the municipal assembly session on April 30, once again asked the municipal president to account.
The woman elected by the Chega party, Fátima Pinto, was one of those who gave voice to the problem, warning of “non-compliance on the part of Ecoambiente”, the company that has been responsible for services in that municipality for 20 years and which, this year, won the public tender, thus continuing to lead the work for another eight years and for a value of 9.9 million euros (plus VAT).
