BRAGA – Hospital de Braga displays more than 140 smiles from employees of the Local Health Unit

More than 140 photographic records of smiles from professionals at the Braga Local Health Unit (ULS) were presented in the photographic exhibition that opened to the public, this Thursday, at Braga Hospital, as part of the International Day of Happiness, celebrated in March.

The initiative, promoted by the Professional Support Office (GAP) of ULS in Braga, is the result of the ‘Capture the Best Smile of a Colleague Next to You’ competition, which challenged employees to immortalize moments of joy and complicity at work.

“The Professional Support Office values ​​the development of activities that promote the sense of belonging, team spirit and well-being of all ULS Braga employees”, stated Sílvia Oliveira, GAP Coordinator.

“This competition was launched on Happiness Day, with the aim of challenging people to create moments where a smile was present. In the end, the results are very positive, with more than 140 photographs from 43 employees who took on this creativity challenge. The photographs perfectly illustrate that many colleagues created moments to make someone smile and, for that reason alone, it was worth it. To take care of others, it is important to take care of our own”, concluded Sílvia Oliveira.

The organization of this exhibition is, for GAP, an “important initiative” to promote well-being in the workplace and highlight the importance of smiling in contributing to a positive and pleasant environment among teams.

The photographs, taken by professionals from ULS in Braga, “reveal the complicity, dedication and passion that employees dedicate to their colleagues and users of the institution”.

The best photographic records were highlighted by a jury set up for this internal competition. Among the 40 entries, three winning photographs stood out, deserving of three prizes offered courtesy of Termas de Caldelas.
