The pace of innovation in recent years has been unprecedented. In a very short space of time, we went from the emergence of the digital transition to a quantum leap in the development and adoption of innovative technological tools, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Based on this reality, the question that arises is: what is the capacity of the different sectors of activity in adopting and implementing new solutions based on AI?

With the aim of democratizing all innovations in AI, helping people and organizations to be more productive and supporting the Portuguese market to better understand this opportunity, Microsoft created DisruPT, a new executive videocast that will feature the participation of some company leaders nationals operating in different sectors of activity.

This set of conversations led by Andrés Ortolá, General Director and President of Microsoft Portugalwill have as fifth and final guest Paulo Rosado, founder and CEO of OutSystemswith whom we spoke about how AI is influencing the transformation of software development sectorwith emphasis on:

“Generative AI is incredible in that it has brought a shift and an opening of mindsets to platforms like OutSystems.”

“When we think about the potential of generative AI to generate complete applications or a large number of applications, we have to realize that the greater the amount of software generated, the more reverse engineering will have to be done for humans to understand it.”

“I believe that many user interfaces will be affected by generative AI. What we will see is an evolution of interfaces based on hybrid models, with the use of visual authentication, a little voice, a little text (…) will really depends on the use case.”

“One of the things we had to do was take our two biggest influences – Portuguese and American cultures – and go back to the foundations of what it means to have a fantastic environment where everyone can thrive and feel motivated. We went to the USA to look for concern about time and urgency, and Portugal’s adaptability, loyalty and interest and motivation to do what is right.”

“What we value most now in the company, in addition to technical capabilities and skills, is the ability to work with others and the ability to explain, so we don’t have endless discussions about a subject and are thus able to make decisions quickly.”

“We currently have 400 active partners around the world, who are true extensions of the company, and we increasingly see them as collaborators. In our case, we see ourselves as facilitators to help them be as successful as possible.”

Both managers agreed that generative AI is changing the way developers – called “architects of the future” – interact with programming, in a conversation that included plenty of topics such as future skills, AI regulation and its use in development. of user interfaces. Until then, take the opportunity to review the four previous episodes of this series of conversations with Miguel Maya, CEO of Millenium BCP, João Dias, President of the Board of Directors of the Agency for Administrative Modernization, Rui Miguel Nabeiro, CEO of the Nabeiro-Delta Cafés GroupIt is Ana Paula Marques, Executive Director of the EDP Groupand where they addressed the importance of AI in the future of banking, the public sector, the food sector, and the energy sector, respectively.
