Cristiano Cabrita suspended his mandate as deputy for the Democratic Alliance (AD), for the Faro constituency in parliament.

In a statement sent to Algarve FirstCristiano Cabrita announced that he will once again assume the role of vice-president of the Albufeira City Council, a position he held before the legislative elections.

With AD’s victory, the head of the list for the Algarve, Miguel Pinto Luz, was appointed Minister of Infrastructure and Housing, with Cristiano Cabrita filling the vacant position.

In the statement, the Algarve social democrat says he assumed “with great pride, a sense of honor and responsibility” the position of deputy of the nation, however, he understands that after this period, he wants to “concentrate solely and exclusively on the Municipality of Albufeira and in Albufeirenses, continuing a set of processes, projects and commitments that were interrupted with my election to the Assembly of the Republic”, he explains.

Dinis Faísca will thus fill Cristiano Cabrita’s place in the Assembly of the Republic.
