Judiciary Police are investigating the crime
A 19-year-old young man was arrested on suspicion of having set a fire on April 27 at Escola Básica 2/3 Diogo Cão, in Vila Real, the Judiciary Police (PJ) announced this Thursday.
In a statement, the PJ explained that on April 27th the defendant entered the school and, “for futile reasons”, set fire to pavilion 4.
The fire, which was “promptly fought and extinguished” by the Cruz Verde Fire Department of Vila Real, endangered the entire structure of that building, consisting of seven classrooms, a physical-chemistry laboratory, a storage room for teaching materials and two offices. administrative, he said.
The suspect, arrested on Tuesday by the PJ, will now be subject to judicial interrogation to apply coercive measures.
