Algarve seduces Bilbao with unique experiences, gastronomy and direct flights expovacaciones

Algarve Tourism will once again be present at Expovacations, in Bilbao, one of the main tourism fairs in the Spanish market, where the region promises to captivate visitors with gastronomic demonstrations, diverse offers and unique experiences. Ongoing May 10th to 12th in Pavilion 3 of the Bilbao Exhibition Centre, the event is a privileged meeting point for travelers looking for information directly from tourist promoters.

This year, Expovacaciones introduced the innovative “Try & Savor” concept, offering participants the opportunity to experience unique sensory experiences and explore the local gastronomy of the represented destinations. Algarve Tourism, in partnership with the municipalities of Albufeira, Faro, Lagoa, Lagos, Loulé, Olhão, Portimão and Vila Real de Santo António, will be present with a stand destination area of ​​63 square meters to highlight the wonders of the Mediterranean Diet and promote direct flights between Bilbao and Faro.

The president of Turismo do Algarve, André Gomes, highlights the importance of participating in Expovacaciones: “After Madrid and Barcelona, ​​our presence at this fair in Bilbao is an extraordinary opportunity to continue showing the Spanish public everything that the Algarve has to offer. We are excited to share our beaches, nature, culture and gastronomy with Expovacaciones visitors and boost demand for this important local market in the region.”

With extended opening hours, from 10:30 am to 8:00 pm on Friday and Saturday, and from 10:30 am to 7:00 pm on Sunday, the fair attracted more than 20 thousand visitors in its last edition. In addition to daily gastronomic demonstrations, the stand do Algarve will offer tourist information about the destination and the municipalities present throughout the event.

A vast cultural heritage, stunning beaches and authentic cuisine make the Algarve a dream destination for travelers from all over the world, attracting nearly 340,000 guests and 900,000 overnight stays from Spanish tourists in 2023.
