Aged 38 and 39 and both mechanics, the two Spaniards headed to Portugal with the car loaded with hashish and crossed the border without difficulty. However, already in Greater Porto, his behavior generated suspicions that led police from the Criminal Investigation Division of the Porto PSP to follow him.
Already in Vila Nova de Gaia and early in the evening, JN found, the agents decided to approach the suspects in the street and the search carried out later revealed a large quantity of hashish. The drug was being transported in the trunk of the vehicle, without being concealed, and was immediately seized. A statement from the PSP highlights that the narcotic product found was sufficient for 60,870 doses.
Members of the Criminal Investigation Division suspect that the seized hashish was transported from Spain to Portugal to be delivered to groups dedicated to drug trafficking in Greater Porto. This is, in fact, the main line of the investigation that continues.
The two Spaniards caught in possession of the drug were arrested and, this Thursday, they will be taken to court to be questioned by the judge and learn about coercive measures.
