Paredes de Coura hosts the National Robotics Festival 2024 (FNR’2024) from Thursday to Sunday, May 2nd to 5th. Eight junior competitions and 8 senior competitions will take place at the Municipal Pavilion, allowing Portuguese teams to qualify for the RoboCup, a global robotics competition, which brings together the best teams from each country, and in which Portugal already has a good track record. results.

Promoted by the Portuguese Society of Robotics and EPRAMI- Escola Profissional do Alto Minho Interior, with the support of the National Agency for Scientific and Technological Culture – Ciência Viva and with the logistical support of the Municipal Council of Paredes de Coura, FNR’2024 integrates the Junior Competitions — participants up to 19 years of age and up to Secondary Education – and Major Competitions, in an event with the participation of teams from various parts of the world.

Conference ‘Autonomous Robotic Systems and Competitions’

Parallel to this 23rd edition of the National Robotics Festival, this Thursday and Friday, May 2nd and 3rd, the 24th IEEE, International Conference on Autonomous Robotic Systems and Competitions will take place, in which the two keynote speakers international guests – Christine Coste, from the National Institute for Research in Digital Science and Technology, in France, and Daniel Polani, from the University of Hertfordshire, in the United Kingdom.

The 24th IEEE International Conference is an international scientific meeting in the area of ​​Mobile Robotics promoted by the University of Aveiro, University of Porto, University of Coimbra, University of Minho, Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo and the Portuguese Robotics Society.

The scope of this important international scientific conference in the area of ​​autonomous robotics and competitions covers, but is not limited to, the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and Education, and is financially co-sponsored by the Portuguese Robotics Society, IEEE Portugal Section, IEEE Portugal RAS Chapter and technically co-sponsored by the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS).
