There is another good result from a Guard district women’s football team. This time it was the under-14s who achieved two wins and one defeat in the Interassociations Tournament, 9-a-side football, which took place in the district of Coimbra last weekend.
Part of the Bronze League, the Guardenses started to win by defeating their Horta counterpart 1-0 on Friday and achieved another victory (2-0) in the second round of the competition, on Saturday, against Castelo Branco. On Sunday, Guarda lost 3-1 to Évora. In terms of classification, Vila Real won the Bronze League, while Porto won the Gold League and Algarve the Silver League. For this tournament, district selector Rita Almeida called up Gabriela Lourença (Seia FC), Margarida Santos (Vila Franca das Naves), Mariana Rodrigues (Sp. Sabugal), Eduarda Vicente (Figueirense), Bruna Paixão (Foz Côa), Letícia Amaral ( Vila Cortês Mondego), Maria Inácio and Filipa Silva (ED Gouveia), Mafalda Cardoso and Maria João Pinto (Sp. Mêda), Yara Vitória, Diana Amaral, Leonor Fernandes, Miriam Pascoal and Leonor Pires (EFF Guarda) and Mercedes Carvalho (NDS ).
