Amarante: Cine-Teatro presents programming – AMARANTE MAGAZINE

“Everyone is invited to another month filled with music, shows and dance. Tickets to see and hear Sara Correia are already sold out. Remember that the Amarante Cine-Teatro program until June was launched in March. Friday, May 3rd, at 9:30 pm, Luís Osório presents the show “Secret Files” created from his book of the same name, published by Contraponto in 2021, which is now in its fourth edition – thus marking the beginning of the program for another month that is expected to be diverse. This is the last event as part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of April 25th.

An unprecedented performance by a renowned journalist and writer who now risks what has never been done. For 90 minutes, the author will take the audience on a journey through the last Portuguese century and through the lives of some of the protagonists who marked our time. A journey shared with the public and with absolutely surprising guests. Tickets cost 7.50 euros.

The balcony that Juliet receives as a gift from an anonymous admirer supports probably the most famous love scene in literature and also plays an important role throughout this humorous adaptation of Romeo and Juliet. The theater company Jangada brings it to Amarante Cine-Teatro, “Cheese and guava” on May 5th. We thus discover a deeply serious comedy, of which not even Shakespeare would have been fully aware, and could have avoided the disastrous result that he inflicted on the two lovers. To watch from 6pm next Sunday. Tickets cost 5 euros.

On May 11th, from 9:30 pm, the Northern Orchestra, takes over the A_CT stage again. Under the direction of maestro Fernando Marinho and with a special participation by Martim Pereira – Winner of the Orquestra do Norte/Conservatório de Música do Porto 2023 Prize – on the piano, Orquestra do Norte will provide the public with “Chopin’s Romanticism”. Tickets cost 5 euros.

Dance “The Inescapable Cascade of Any Odd Event” by Companhia Intranzyt Cia is the proposal for May 17th, starting at 9:30 pm, with tickets costing 10 euros.

For the 2024 production, ITZ-Intranzit Cia.® invited choreographer Menghan Lou, who worked with the company’s dancers on the multifaceted nature of emotions and their profound impact on the human experience, creating a visually poetic and intense piece, in a strong dynamic interaction between mind and body.

In this show, emotions are danced that serve as a link between our thoughts and physical sensations, the way we feel emotionally and the physical manifestation that influences our posture, facial expressions and general well-being. On the other hand, thoughts that can trigger emotional responses, creating a dynamic interaction between the mind and body.

On May 25th Sara Correia takes the stage for a sold-out show.
