The 17-year-old, detained in the north of the country and suspected of ordering massacres in Brazil, was remanded in pre-trial detention, the court ruled this Friday.

The young man is heavily indicted for the crimes of qualified homicide, offenses against qualified physical integrity and discrimination and incitement to hatred and violence. In addition to these crimes, there is also the practice of child pornography crimes.

According to the investigation, carried out by the Judiciary Police in collaboration with the Federal Police of Brazil, the young man “promoted Nazism, inciting extremist behavior” via the internet.

From what SIC found out, the young man was the son of separated parents and lived alternately between Vila da Feira and Gondomar. On the internet, he managed a group on the Discord platform where, according to the Judiciary Police, “different people apologists for the same ideals came together” and where content was shared that included “serious self-mutilation of young people, mutilation and death of animals, dissemination of extremist Nazi propaganda , instigation and practice of the ‘mission’ of committing massacres in schools (filmed and transmitted via cell phone) and, also, sharing and selling child pornography”.

The investigation found that the group’s practices led to a firearm attack at a school in Sapopemba, Brazil, which resulted in the death of a 17-year-old girl. The perpetrator of the crime had shared with the group the weapon and balaclava (cap) that he would use in the attack.
