UA 70-year-old man, resident in Brescia, Italy, spent 407 thousand euros on prizeless scratch cards, which he still keeps today and which are now being used to raise awareness about the risk of gambling.

The story was told by himself to Corriere della Sera. The Italian admitted that he kept the prizeless scratch cards as “a reminder of all the money he spent over the years” on addiction, in an unbridled fight “for the dream of wealth that never came.”

“I thought that seeing my wages and savings turned into paper would help me stop. But it was useless. Now I’m finally receiving treatment,” he said.

Meanwhile, the man handed the scratch cards to a director who is using them in various social actions, including a theater play, about gambling addiction, financed by Ats Brescia.
