Groups attack in Bonfim, Campo 24 de Agosto and Batalha.

Two men, of Algerian nationality, were attacked with sticks, in Campo 24 de Agosto, Porto, by five individuals who stopped there in a car and, after the attack, at 01:00 this Friday, they fled. The two injured people went to Hospital de S. João. Minutes later, on Rua do Bonfim, nearby, 10 men, of the same nationality, were attacked by 10 to 15 men, with sticks and a gun, in the house where they were staying the night. Three were injured. The cases are in the hands of PSP Criminal Investigation.
At 03:00, a 26-year-old Portuguese man was arrested, on Rua de Santo Ildefonso, with an extendable baton and a balaclava (a hat that covers the face) with traces of blood. He was part of a group that attacked a man, in Praça da Batalha, moments before. And while he was detained, five other men, who looked for them at the police station, were identified as suspects in the other attacks. The detainee is serving a 5-year suspended sentence for several attacks in recent years.
Before these three cases, at 10pm on Thursday, two Algerian men, aged 35 and 36, were intercepted by the PSP in Trindade, after displaying two kitchen knives on the metro that went from Gaia to Porto. They also had 12 scratch cards and €430 in a backpack. Attacks and robberies have been constant in the center of Porto. PSP has reinforced its presence.
