Santa Casa: PS and PSD admit to listening to Santana Lopes in Parliament

The PS and PSD admit to listening to Santana Lopes, former provider of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa, between 2011 and 2017, in Parliament about the internationalization of social games, promoted by the institution.

This possibility was advanced by Eurico Brilhante Dias, former parliamentary leader of the socialists, on the program Entre Políticos on Antena 1. The deputy says that the hearing is a decision of the PS bench within the scope of the Parliamentary Committee on Labor and Social Security.

“If we want to understand how the internationalization process began, perhaps we will have Dr. Pedro Santana Lopes in the Assembly of the Republic again”, he assumes.

Hearing is just “a question to study”

The PSD, represented by Pedro Roque in the same program, also admits, “in theory”, the hearing of Santana Lopes, if there is a “widening of the scope of the hearings”.

The social-democratic deputy states, however, that Portugal is witnessing a “turning of the page” by the Government and that, therefore, the hearing is just “an issue to be studied”.

“There were no answers regarding financial execution and, therefore, it is natural that the Government wants to turn the page and put in place a new Bureau and a new provider that can provide these types of answers and that make Santa Casa fulfill its social function “, he points out.
