The Tadim Parish Council will promote, on the 26th of May, a solidarity walk for the Braga Volunteer Firefighters. The ‘Trilhos de Tadim’ route is seven kilometers long and registration for this initiative costs five euros per person, with the total amount going to benefit the Braga Volunteer Firefighters.
During the presentation of this initiative, which took place late yesterday afternoon at the Tadim Parish Council, the local mayor, Rolando Vilaça, highlighted three objectives of this campaign.
“This initiative promoted by the Tadim Parish Council has three main objectives. Firstly, we want to raise funds for the Braga Volunteer Firefighters, an institution that deserves much more support than it does. Secondly, we want to be able to promote sports in our community and, thirdly, we also want to promote a healthy lifestyle in communion with nature for all the people of Tadim”, explained Rolando Vilaça.
Also present at the presentation of this initiative was the councilor of the Braga City Council, Altino Bessa, who praised the support that the Tadim Parish Council seeks to give to the Braga Volunteer Firefighters.
“This initiative by the Tadim Parish Council is to be commended. I have tried to encourage people to give more support to the firefighters, because I recognize the importance that the Braga Volunteer Firefighters have for the life of the municipality. It is necessary to cherish the volunteer firefighters and I hope that this initiative can be replicated by other parish councils”, highlighted Altino Bessa, who also noted that this walk seeks to “make Tadim known, while promoting sport, physical activity and nature of this locality”.
In turn, the commander of the Braga Volunteer Firefighters, Pedro Ribeiro, left a special thank you to the Tadim Parish Council for launching this solidarity initiative.
“I would like to express my gratitude for this project by the Tadim Parish Council. Our firefighters like this type of ‘treat’ and I have no doubt that the fundraising resulting from this campaign will be an important contribution to improving the conditions of our corporation”, guaranteed the commander of the Braga Volunteer Firefighters.
Registration for this solidarity walk by the Braga Volunteer Firefighters, promoted by the Tadim Parish Council, will be open until May 15th. Those interested in participating will have to register with the Tadim Parish Council.
