What if, more than smelling or observing, you could taste a flower? In Marisa Benjamim’s exhibition, to be opened this Saturday at the contemporary art gallery Venha a Nós a Boa Morta, it will be possible to discover what a flower tastes like.
The artist, who has lived and worked in Berlin since 2010, is in Viseu for the first time, in an artistic residency that began on March 20th this year. The beginning of Marisa Benjamim’s collaboration with the Viseense gallery began with the analysis of the city’s various forests and gardens, with a collection of various species of plants as well as tree trunks. From this research comes “Resilient Gardens”, an exhibition that opens at 6pm on May 4th.
“When I arrived in Viseu, the first thing I did was take a walk around the city, understand what might interest me”, he began by explaining to Jornal do Centro. “Of course, I had already done a study, but I had never been to Viseu,” he said.
