“The parental couple and teenage children: new perspectives” was the theme of the lecture, led by the Sá da Bandeira Debate Club, and which covered issues such as relationships in the parental couple, the impact on children and their future relationships, focusing on dialogue, care and listening between parents and children.
The event ended up becoming a space for debate with students, parents and teachers, who asked Daniel Sampaio several questions, who also gave an autograph session at the end of the initiative.
Renowned psychiatrist and family therapist, Daniel Sampaio is a professor of Psychiatry at the Faculty of Medicine of Lisbon and has coordinated, at Santa Maria Hospital, intervention units for adolescents in crisis.
He was one of the introducers of Family Therapy in Portugal, through the Portuguese Society of Family Therapy, which he founded in 1979, and published several books, mainly about adolescence and its problems.
