The president of the Coimbra District of the Chega party, Paulo Seco, was re-elected for a three-year term, with list A obtaining 60% of the votes, he himself told the Lusa agency.

The results of the vote were confirmed by candidate César Correia, who topped list B and came in second place with almost 40% of votes in the ballot box.

It was not possible to know how many voters in the Coimbra district voted for each of the lists, but César Correia revealed that he had been informed that around 160 Chega activists participated in this election.

“This victory is recognition of the work carried out since 2021 by the District Political Commission, which has worked its hardest to expand the Chega brand”, stated Paulo Seco.

Paulo Nogueira Seco, graduated from the Higher Institute of Accounting and Administration (ISCA), in Coimbra, has been working as a political advisor for the Chega Parliamentary Group for the past year.

With “work done” in preparing the party for the European elections on June 9, the new District “is already starting to work towards the local elections” of 2025, he added.
