Maximum temperatures will rise from Tuesday, with maximum temperatures expected to exceed 30 degrees in some places on mainland Portugal, meteorologist Pedro Sousa told Lusa.

“There is a significant improvement in the weather and also a significant recovery in temperatures in the coming days. Temperatures begin to rise on Tuesday and on Wednesday they rise again, reaching over 30 degrees in some places”, he said.

According to the meteorologist at the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), today there may still be some light showers until the end of the morning and a drop in the minimum temperature.

“On Tuesday we will see a rise in the order of five to six degrees and on Wednesday it will rise again in the same order of magnitude. The minimums will only rise on Wednesday, with cold mornings expected for today and Tuesday “he indicated.

According to Pedro Sousa, maximum temperatures above 25 degrees are expected from Tuesday, being equal to or greater than 30 in Alentejo, the South Region and the Tagus Valley.

“Temperatures remain stable throughout the week, and there may be a downward trend over the weekend, but at least until Friday there doesn’t seem to be much change,” he said.
