Two climate activists detained for blocking Banco de Portugal

DTwo climate activists from Fim ao Fóssil were detained by the Public Security Police (PSP) this Monday morning for blocking the entrance to the Banco de Portugal, in Lisbon.

In a video that the News by the Minute had access, it is possible to see the moment of arrest.

The young people, it should be noted, glued themselves to the doors, preventing entry to the building, in a protest, they say in a statement, “to denounce the Portuguese Government’s investment in the fossil industry, and the lack of investment in the fair energy transition”.

According to a statement, they intend to denounce the Government’s lack of investment in a “fair energy transition” and demand the end of the use of fossil fuels by 2030.
