First certified plant nutritionists in Portugal after 18 months of training: Gazeta Rural

Completed in December 2023, the course integrated 100 participants during 150 hours of training over 18 months, with program content that focused on topics such as soils, plant fertilization and innovation in agriculture, with the participation of teachers from institutions of Higher Education of recognized prestige, in addition to several former Ministers of Agriculture – such as Maria do Céu Antunes, Assunção Cristas and Fernando Gomes da Silva -, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Paulo Portas, and João Coimbra, agricultural producer reference, along with several companies linked to innovation in the agricultural sector.

In the sessions that took place at the Higher Institute of Agronomy (ISA), in Évora University (Me in the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD) and in Santarém Higher Agricultural School (ESAS) field technicians from the Timac Agro with the aim of increasing the team’s skills among the more than 20 thousand farmers who are visited annually, with the commitment to ensuring economic and environmental sustainability for modern agriculture, in a challenging scenario.

The delivery of diplomas is scheduled for May 7th at Roullier World Innovation Center (CMI), in Saint Malo, France, in a session attended by the Executive President of the Roullier Groupfrom the General Director of Timac Agro International and the President of Vitas Portugallocal branch of Roullier Group.

The CMI is a powerful growth accelerator in the field of Plant and Animal Nutrition, where more than a hundred researchers explore all possible research angles, developing the specificities of marine and plant origin that have differentiated the Groupe Roullier since 1959.

CMI currently has 194 research partnerships with universities and reference institutions and 213 families of patents, certifications and awards.
