Qatar Airways announces an increase in the frequency of its flights between Lisbon and Doha, adding two more to the four weekly flights already announced. The airline will operate a total of six flights from June 6, 2024.

Qatar Airways began operating in Lisbon from June 2019, before the service was interrupted by the pandemic. Lisbon returns as part of its global network of more than 170 destinations in 2024.

From June 6th, Qatar Airways will start flying six days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday) between Humberto Delgado Airport, in Lisbon, and Hamad International Airport (HIA), in Doha, recently voted the Best Airport in the World by Skytrax at the 2024 World Airport Awards. The route will be operated by a Boeing 787-8. With this increase in frequencies, Qatar Airways will have more than 3,000 seats available per week.

According to current Qatar Airways booking data, among the most popular travel destinations for passengers departing from Lisbon are Bangkok, Hong Kong, Denpasar, Johannesburg, Ho Chi Minh City, Kuala Lumpur, Maldives and Colombo.

Eric Odone, Qatar Airways Vice President of Sales for Europe, stated: “We are very pleased to be working again on our expansion in the Portuguese market, strengthening our global network of destinations and the options we offer to our travelers from Portugal. We are excited to further strengthen our presence in Lisbon with six weekly flights, and we look forward to supporting our Portuguese passengers on their journeys to the best destinations in the world starting this summer.”

Thanks to this new connection, a fundamental part of the Qatar airline’s expansion plans, Portuguese passengers will be able to travel to their dream destinations, such as Delhi, Maldives, Kathmandu or Dhaka, through Hamad International Airport (HIA) and experience the world-class services of Qatar Airways, recognized as the Best Airline in the Middle East and holder of the Best Business Class in the World, among other international awards.

In addition, Qatar Airways Privilege Club members will be able to earn Avios on their flights and enjoy special discounts when paying for their tickets with Avios + cash, or Avios Max, when paying 100% of the fare with Avios. Travelers will also be able to use Avios at Qatar Duty Free outlets at Hamad International Airport, or purchase special travel packages from Qatar Airways Holidays with Avios, among many other benefits.
