The 1st edition of Viana Fashion Night is an initiative that brings together ETAP – Escola Profissional, the Business Association of the District of Viana do Castelo and the Viana do Castelo City Council, and aims to present the talent of new fashion designers and promote and boost local fashion commerce.
The event, which takes place on May 10th, at 9 pm, at Passeio das Mordomas da Romaria, in Viana do Castelo, takes place at Casa das Varandas or Misericórdia and is of particular interest to the general public, for professionals, traders and fashion companies, to showcase the potential in the fashion offering.
This first edition highlights the parade of works by the final year students of the Fashion Design Technical Course at ETAP in Vila Nova de Cerveira, who will present their individual collections, developed within the scope of the Professional Aptitude Tests, in a total of 82 coordinates.
The new designers will showcase their themed creations by projecting to the public, in addition to the theme, the development of the pieces within the scope of the interdisciplinary Fashion Design project. They are students who are well prepared and oriented towards a demanding market of competent professionals, who wish to be alongside established names in the world of fashion.
The end-of-course collections are the result of solid training, lasting three academic years, which a jury made up of notable teachers, representatives of institutions and personalities linked to fashion, such as international stylist Rafael Amaral , will evaluate.
Collections from local stores have also joined this event and will offer media visibility, promising to be a high-performance fashion show, with moments of innovation and contemporaneity.
With a perfumed and colorful catwalk stretched out in front of the majestic Misericórdia building, flanked by chairs for spectators, the line-up includes designer fashion, tailoring, fashion accessories, glasses, jewelry, popular gold, decoration and lots of entertainment, with the musician Pedro Correia, the Dix Band, Academia de Dança Arte em Movimento, Academia Jadança and a surprise presenter.
Admitting that the 1st edition of Viana Fashion Night is an excellent form of marketing, with a positive impact on the activity of establishments in the fashion sector, and in bringing talented fashion designers closer to entrepreneurs in the sector, it highlights the quality of the local offer and values the tourist destination and shopping.
Stylist Isabel Lima, a teacher by profession, who works on various urban movements, brimming with creations, reflected in art, and consequently in fashion, will also have some of her pieces and collections on this night, which will certainly be magical, as she is the Director of Fashion Design Course of the students in question and the driver of this event, continuing on stage with several projects.
