The Portalegre Polytechnic is one of the European institutions participating in a project that explores the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools for the inclusion of students with disabilities and special educational needs, in the context of Higher Education Institutions.
The Institute, in a note sent to our editors, states that the Project, approved within the scope of Erasmus+, KA220-HED – Cooperation partnerships in higher education, with funding of 250 thousand euros, the project is coordinated by the University of Maribor (Slovenia) and it also involves the University of Istanbul (Turkey), the University of Deusto (Spain) and the INUK Institute (Slovenia). The participating team from the Polytechnic of Portalegre includes professors Sérgio Correia (coordination), Luísa Carvalho and Secundino Lopes.
Through this project we intend to explore the potential of Artificial Intelligence technologies and tools for inclusive education, promoting teacher innovation in teaching practices in this field, the provision of innovative e-learning resources (Open Educational Resources) and the design/promotion of pilot courses for teachers.
