Iberian duel smiled on the Spanish counterpart, who won 3-0

Portugal’s debut in the women’s under-17 European Championship was not a happy one, after losing this Monday to Spain, 3-0.

In a first half marked by balance, Portugal knew how to close the spaces well and the Spanish team only managed to reach Thaís Lima’s goal on one occasion, through Celia Segura, in the 22nd minute.

In the second 45 minutes, the under-17 women’s National Team was unable to maintain the competitive pace and the Spanish team ended up taking the opportunity to open the scoring, after 69 minutes had elapsed. In the second, Celia Segura demonstrated her accurate aim to put the Spanish team at an advantage, in a move in which the Portuguese goalkeeper doesn’t look good in the photo.

Eight minutes later, Alba Cerrato once again reinforced Spain’s superiority and, in the 77th minute, extended the advantage. The same Alba would end up scoring twice in the match, closing the score in the 82nd minute.

Portugal will return to the field next Thursday to face Belgium, who lost the other game in this group B, against Poland, 1-0.
