In the year in which the ten years of Cante Alentejano’s classification as Unesco Intangible Heritage are celebrated, Alentejo will be heard in one of the largest concert halls in Europe.

On May 8th, Paulo Ribeiro and the Peasants of Pias, together with Pedro Abrunhosa and the Comité Caviar, will take the stage at L’OLYMPIA, the oldest music venue in Paris, in a concert that will certainly be memorable.

The Choral and Ethnographic Group Os Camponeses de Pias is one of the oldest in the history of Alentejano singing. Founded in 1968, this group has a legacy that time, memories and resilience have preserved.

The Group, where several generations of singers have already passed, was joined by Paulo Ribeiro, a well-known musician, who also rehearses choral groups.

And if this union alone was already attractive, one of the most iconic voices in Portugal, Pedro Abrunhosa, joins this. “Para os Braços da minha Mãe”, one of Pedro Abrunhosa’s themes, performed together with Paulo Ribeiro and the Peasants of Pias, with emphasis on the voice of the “giant” Rodrigo Aleixo, has been one of the most heard and most emotional themes , the result of this union of voices.

Together they have taken Alentejo around the world, filling rooms and leaving thousands of spectators captivated.

It will certainly be no different in Paris and his performance will live on in the memory and hearts of everyone who will have the opportunity to watch.
