The Prado GNR is ‘inundated’ with several complaints from traders and the population of the town and neighboring parishes due to the increase in theft of tip boxes and other goods in commercial spaces and homes. Last Saturday, the Guard identified two suspects for stealing a piggy bank from a restaurant located in the center of Vila de Prado.

Informed of what had happened, a GNR patrol tracked down the suspects, recovering the piggy bank (already damaged / see photo), containing all the money inside (approximately €350).

The two subjects, aged 13 and 18, took advantage of the distraction of the establishment’s owner (he was answering a phone call) to carry out the theft, then fleeing on foot.

In Prado and Cabanelas, there are reports of residents unhappy with this type of action, with the GNR being alerted to several robberies carried out in recent times.

The facts were communicated to the Vila Verde judicial court.
