The Technical Conferences on Organic Agriculture are led by Jorge Ferreira, an unavoidable figure in Organic Agriculture in Portugal.

The Technical Days in Organic Agriculture take place over three days in various reference locations in the municipality of Tavira, such as the certified organic farms ‘Quinta Pomar’ and ‘Sociedade Agrícola da Gomeira’, but also at the Agricultural Experimentation Center of Tavira (CEAT ), Tavira Innovation Hub, and, finally, at the Patacão Horticultural and Fruit Experimentation Center, Faro Innovation Hub, municipality of Faro.

With the aim of promoting, updating and consolidating technical knowledge in Organic Agriculture among farmers, agronomists, technicians, and also those interested in general, the Technical Days in Organic Agriculture – Algarve 2024 are part of a broad program that combines theoretical-practical horticulture sessions and organic fruit growing and where the new European Legislation for Organic Agriculture is detailed.

The Technical Conferences on Organic Agriculture count on the collaboration of CCDR Algarve IP | Agriculture and Fisheries of the Algarve and are part of the program ‘MedAdap Tavira: Agroecology in a Mediterranean context’ which arises within the scope of a protocol signed with the Municipality of Tavira.

The project supported by the Municipality of Tavira presents itself as a reinforced program of initiatives to promote and support sustainable organic farming methods, ecological and regenerative practices, with the aim of optimizing water efficiency, minimizing environmental impact and strengthening biodiversity, contributing to promote the health and well-being of the community.

The initiative is free but lunch is not included. Registration is mandatory and must be completed by filling out a form.
