The Vila Nova de Cerveira Municipal Assembly approved, by majority, the 2023 accounts, which recorded a reduction in debt to 210,308.32 euros (-75%) and loans to 3,251,631.54 euros (-306,241.40 euros) , was released today.
“In just two years, the municipality of Vila Nova de Cerveira reduced debts to third parties to 210,308.32 euros (-75%) and Medium and Long Term loans (MLP) to 3,251,631.54 euros (-306,241, 40 euros), in a policy of rigor in the use of public money, without neglecting investment and economic and social growth”, highlights a note sent to newsrooms today.
In 2023, the year to which the accounts now approved relate, Vila Nova de Cerveira’s budget was around 20 million euros.
According to the municipality, the document “reveals the highest execution rate of the last four years of the Plan’s Major Options (71.5%) and a positive net result of 1,072,215.62 euros”.
The 2023 accounts were approved, unanimously, in a council meeting and, by majority, in the Municipal Assembly, with 20 in favor and six abstentions.
For the socialist mayor, Rui Teixeira, cited in the note, this is “a very ambitious proposal from the executive, having achieved a good ‘performance’ in terms of implementation with large investments in various actions and projects of interest to improve quality life of the Cerveirenses”.
Rui Teixeira “states that most of the objectives set for the activity of the city council as set out in the Grand Options of the Plan (GOP) and Budget 2023 were achieved, which translated into a relevant contribution to the growth and development of the municipality”.
“This was done through the implementation of a vast set of projects, competitions and works, as well as achievements at the level of events, having as a corollary, without neglecting the difficult events that continue to be experienced at a global level, a very positive balance in the during the year 2023”, he adds.
According to the municipality, the management report and accountability “assumes the execution of the activities carried out based on the GOP and Budget 2023, which had a financial execution in the order of 9.4 million euros”.
“Budget execution of expenditure was 18.4 million euros and revenue was 21.1 million euros. Compared to the year 2022, in terms of expenditure, there was an overall increase in execution of 2.3 million euros, with an increase of 1.5 million euros relating to GOP and, in revenue, there was a increase of 1.6 million euros”.
