Today, at the end of the afternoon, the transfer of the first users from the old Emergency Room building of the Hospitals of the University of Coimbra (HUC), of the Local Health Unit of Coimbra (ULS Coimbra), to the new facilities began. The Board of Directors (CA) accompanied health professionals in these first moments of change and “the balance is clearly positive”.
“It is a great satisfaction to see the first users being transferred to this new building, a week before the date we had committed to”, highlights the President of the Board of Directors of ULS Coimbra, Alexandre Lourenço, adding: “our deadline It was March 21st, but thanks to the work of many, very dedicated people, it was possible to bring forward the beginning of the transfer of the first patients by a week, something that leaves us with a feeling of mission accomplished and even more eager to move on to the next phase. Following”.
Elsa Gaspar, Deputy Director of the Adult Emergency Service, assured that “the transfer is progressing well, as planned, and the patients will all be in the new area by tomorrow morning”. Nurse Helena Fernandes, Nurse Manager of the Adult Emergency Service, reiterated this information, also highlighting the “huge satisfaction it is to be able to start the process of transferring users to the new facilities”.
The first users began to be transferred today, around 5 pm, with the transfer beginning with users screened with blue, green and yellow bracelets. “Everything is going very well, with this first phase of the transfer”, highlights Alexandre Lourenço, who leaves a commitment: “we are working to have the entire Emergency Department renewed by the end of September, before the autumn-winter seasonal period. This is the commitment of the Board of Directors in relation to the new Emergency Room facilities”.
The transfer of users will take place overnight today and until tomorrow.
