Braga Romana, which takes place from May 22nd to 26th, will affect traffic in the city, informed the City Council.
According to the Authority, the following measures will be taken:
Prohibition and change of car circulation
Car traffic is prohibited between 09:00 on May 15th and 12:00 on May 28th on the eastern street of Largo Paulo Orósio. In the same period, car traffic on the western street was carried out in both directions, with car traffic in the South-North direction losing priority near the junction with Rua de S. Sebastião;
Car traffic is prohibited between 08:00 and 14:00 and between 19:00 and 23:59 on May 22nd in Praça Municipal, Rua de Santo António and Rua D. Frei Caetano Brandão;
Car traffic is prohibited between 2:00 pm on the 21st and 12:00 pm on the 27th of May in Largo de São Paulo, more specifically in its extension between Largo de Santiago and Rua D. Gonçalo Pereira (East Street). ). In the same period, car traffic in the North street of Largo de São Paulo (between Rua de S. Tiago and Rua D. Gonçalo Pereira) is in the opposite direction to the usual direction, with circulation now taking place in the West direction -East (from Rua de S. Tiago to Rua D. Gonçalo Pereira). Also in the same period, car traffic on Rua do Anjo is in the opposite direction to normal, with traffic moving in the West-East direction (from Largo de Santiago to Largo Carlos Amarante);
Car traffic is prohibited between 09:00 on the 15th and 12:00 on the 28th of May in the West-East direction of Rua D. Paio Mendes;
Car traffic is prohibited between 7pm on the 24th and 1am on the 25th of May in Praça Municipal, Rua de Santo António and Rua D. Frei Caetano Brandão;
Car traffic is prohibited between 1:00 pm and 7:00 pm on the 25th and between 2:00 pm on the 26th and 1:00 am on the 27th in Praça Municipal and Rua de Santo António.
Car parking ban
Car parking is prohibited between 7:00 pm on May 1st and 11:59 pm on May 31st in Largo Paulo Orósio and in the extension of Rua de São Sebastião between Largo Paulo Orósio and Rua do Matadouro, leaving the parking lot in the latter reserved for Volunteer Firefighters;
Car parking is prohibited between 19:00 on the 5th and 19:00 on the 31st of May on the west side of Rua Dr. Rocha Peixoto, namely in an area of 100 meters after the junction with Rua Damião de Góis, and in the extension of Rua dos Firefighters Voluntários between Rua Dr. Rocha Peixoto and Largo Paulo Orósio;
Car parking is prohibited between 7:00 pm on May 12th and 11:59 pm on May 31st on Rua D. Gonçalo Pereira, on Rua D. Paio Mendes, on Rua D. Frei Caetano Brandão (Carvalheiras section ), on Rua de São Paulo, Rua dos Firefighters Voluntários and at the south end of Largo das Carvalheiras. During the same period, car parking is also prohibited on the stretch of Rua D. Afonso Henriques between Rua do Farto and Rua do Forno, with the same attention being paid to the needs of the event;
Car parking is prohibited between 17:00 on the 19th and 23:59 on the 28th of May in the parking area adjacent to Rua dos Firefighters Voluntários (next to the D. Diogo de Sousa Museum);
Car parking is prohibited between 5pm on May 19th and 11:59pm on May 28th in the East street of Praça Municipal (between Rua da Misericórdia and Rua de Santo António) and in adjacent parking spaces with the central platform of Praça Municipal;
Car parking is prohibited between 5pm on the 19th and 11:59pm on the 28th of May on Rua D. Gonçalo Pereira.
