In the FIM Bajas World Cup it was only Portugal and with Bruno Santos winning!

The second round of the 2024 World Cup season calendar END of Bajas, the Baja TT Dehesa Extremadura, a race held on Portuguese and Spanish soil from the 2nd to the 4th of May, ended with great results for the Portuguese riders and with special emphasis on the performance of Bruno Santos (Husqvarna).

The Baja TT Dehesa Extremadura started with a Prologue in Elvas and then continued towards the final destination in Badajoz, with the riders facing a demanding route that tested their riding skills as well as the resistance of their bikes.

After missing the opening round of the FIM Bajas World Cup, in Saudi Arabia, the driver from Torres Vedras dominated the two days of the Portuguese-Spanish race, after Spaniard Edgar Canet had won the Prologue at an early stage of the start.

David Megre (Kawasaki), who won this race a year ago, was 2nd, with Pedro Bianchi Prata (Honda) completing the podium and winning the Veterans class, he who had finished 5th in the inaugural round of the competition .

In this way, the talent and preparation of the Portuguese riders in the world of “off road” motorcycling was clearly evident, as they did not leave their credits in the hands of others and closed the podium in this baja race with national colors.

With victory already assured, Bruno Santos, who has already become national All-Terrain champion, analyzed the result obtained in the Baja TT Dehesa Extremadura:

“I am naturally very pleased with this victory in a World Cup race, but it was a very tiring day. There were many kilometers and on a slower and harder route than in the stage of the Rally Raid that took place here. On the route where the cars had already passed, the track was quite devastated. Navigation was also very demanding because the ‘road book’ had a large number of notes and I was the one opening the track throughout the race. I felt good and managed to get a good run. The race had several neutralizations and I was able to get a sense of the advantage I had over my opponents, which allowed me to run a well-controlled race.”revealed the winner of this baja at the end.

It should be noted that after this race, the FIM Bajas World Cup continues its season with the Baja Aragón from the 26th to the 28th of July, in a calendar that includes a total of eight rounds and one of these rounds is the Baja do Oeste which takes place in November.
