WArlos Moreira da Silva succeeds Vasco de Mello, who has led the association since its creation in 2021 and who remains at the helm as a member.

“We are 43 action leaders and companies, willing to set an example, to lend our teams and resources, and to lead the change and transformation that depends on us, companies, but also to be more demanding with the remaining ‘stakeholders’ to fulfill the ambition we have for Portugal. We believe that Portugal can and should be better”, says the new President of the BRP association, Carlos Moreira da Silva, in a statement.

The new management consists of nine members, the remaining six being: Ana Figueiredo, executive president of Altice Portugal, João Bento, executive president of CTT, João Ortigão Costa, executive president of Sugal, Jorge de Melo, executive president of Sovena, Ricardo Pires, executive president of Semapa, and Vasco de Mello, President of José de Mello, who moves from the previous Management, the new corporate bodies immediately took office.

The members of the Board of the General Assembly and the Supervisory Board were also elected, with Nuno Galvão Teles, partner at MLGT, and António Brochado Correia, from PWC, maintaining the presidency, respectively.

Created in 2021, the BRP Association is an organization of business leaders, with the “purpose of accelerating Portugal’s economic and social growth to guarantee a more fair, prosperous and sustainable country”, it is made up of 43 leaders from the largest companies and business groups with relevant activity in Portugal, from different sectors, geographies and stages of development.

The companies that make up the association represented in 2022 “global revenues of 124 billion euros, 65 billion at national level, employed 424 thousand people of which 218 thousand in Portugal, who received on average a salary twice the average of the Portuguese private sector, and invested more than 10 billion euros”, reads a statement.
