Carlos Oliveira was honored yesterday with the attribution of his name to a research grant from the Núcleo Regional do Centro da Liga Portuguesa Contra o Cancro (NRC-LPCC) – it was announced yesterday, at the presentation of the 2024/2025 research grants.
The Professor Carlos Oliveira scholarship is intended to support projects in the area of gynecological oncology. Carlos Oliveira, remember, is a retired professor and former president of the NRC-LPCC.
“With this new scholarship, we wanted to thank the work of someone who was president of the nucleus and of the League and who is a reference in the area of gynecological oncology”, said Vítor Rodrigues.
Present at the ceremony, the honoree Carlos Oliveira said “it was an honor” to have his name attributed to a research grant in gynecological oncology in that nucleus of the League”.
“I hope one day to see a fellow with this scholarship who has contributed to long survival or to the cure of a disease and has progressed in his or her medical career,” he said.
