The 40th edition of Ovibeja, the biggest event in Alentejo, organized by ACOS – Associação de Criadores de Ovinos do Sul, ended last Sunday. “40 years of Associativism” was the central theme of this 2024 edition, which proved to be a real success, as Rui Garrido, President of ACOS, told Rádio campanário. The person responsible, by way of review, began by referring to us “This year’s Ovibeja went well, it achieved the objectives we set out for” adding “the fair was well organized and it was a beautiful party.”

Rui Garrido also highlighted “the holding of 40 colloquia and debates” underlining “dedicated to very central and important themes for the agriculture sector, all with a lot of assistance and this is worth highlighting” noting that “the program aroused interest.”

The President of Acos also highlighted “we had a visit from the political class in force” praising the presence of the Prime Minister and the Ministers of Agriculture and the Environment at the opening session.

Rui Garrido also added that “We had more visitors, more exhibitors than last year, we celebrated 10 years of Cante Alentejano as a World Heritage Site in an extraordinary way and we had an excellent concert lineup.”

The person responsible for the entity organizing the event concludes “we are all to be congratulated; We invested a lot in this year’s edition and managed to live up to expectations.”

OVibeja, which has reinforced its position on the national events calendar, is today understood as an event that presents “All the Alentejo in this World”.
