Leonor Ribeiro won the Queen of the Harvest of Rio Maior 2024 competition, which took place on the night of May 1st, in the old fire hall, and also won the Sympathy prize. Beatriz Lázaro was elected 1st Lady of Honor, Rossana Carvalho was the 2nd Lady of Honor and the Fotogenia prize went to candidate Zlata Romanenko.
There were eight candidates in the competition who paraded in front of a large audience. Leonor Ribeiro competed nominated by the Union of Parishes of S. João da Ribeira and Ribeira de S. João. The young woman succeeds Beatriz Quistorp, who represented the Municipality of Rio Maior last year in the Queen of the Harvest of Portugal competition, where she was crowned 2nd Maid of Honor. The winner gains the right to represent the municipality of Rio Maior at national level in the competition where she will be elected Ambassador of the Wine Territories, on September 7th, this year in Cartaxo.
The event was attended by the mayor of Rio Maior, Filipe Santana Dias, councilors Lopes Candoso, Leonor Fragoso, Miguel Santos, Miguel Paulo and Susana Gaspar, and representatives of the Parish Councils of Rio Maior, João Rebocho, and de S. João da Ribeira and Ribeira de S. João, Leandro Jorge, accompanied by their respective executives.
