André Ventura believes that reparations to colonized countries will “leave marks for the next generations, for the next governments and for the next parliaments”.

Chega will propose that Parliament take criminal action against the President of the Republic for treason against the country and the Constitution, following statements about possible reparations to former coloniesthe party leader announced this Tuesday.

“The President of the Republic stopped representing the national interest and started representing the interests of other States”, he stated.

The leader of Chega believes that reparations to colonized countries will “leave marks for the next generations, for the next governments and for the next parliaments”.

“I will apologize to all Portuguese people who do not feel affected by this,” said Ventura.

The announcement was made by André Ventura at the end of a meeting of the Chega Parliamentary Group, which aimed to debate this topic.

The party has enough deputies to move forward with the initiative, but it will only be approved if it has the support of PS and PSD, parties that have already indicated they are against it.
