Between Friday and Sunday, Paredes de Coura hosts the fourth edition of the Musical Pollination Cycle initiative, which is repeated from the 17th to the 19th, and whose program includes concerts, workshops and walks.

The action, promoted by the Chamber of Paredes de Coura, within the scope of the cultural center’s programming, with the support of the Portuguese Theaters and Cinemas Network, “includes various musical genres, with highlights such as Lula Pena, Daniel Pereira Cristo, the Galician duo Xisco Feijoó and María Vidal, among other artists.

The cycle of concerts and cultural activities, dedicated to classical, traditional and jazz music, which has a programming partnership between the Rock’n’Cave Cultural Association and the Porta-Jazz Association, showcases “national and international projects that are found in these three genres at its base, but which present new contemporary approaches in Paredes de Coura.”

In addition to the cultural center of Paredes de Coura, in the district of Viana do Castelo, the Parish Council of Agualonga, the Paredes de Coura Association, Capela do Espírito Santo (ACRDPC), the association of Ferreira, Casa Grande de Romarigães, Eira Comunitária de Porreiras, Vascões and Cossourado are other spaces in the municipality that will host the Musical Pollination Cycle.

From Friday until Sunday, Lula Pena, Nuno Campos 4tet, Vítor Joaquim accompanied by Ulrich Mitzlaff and João Silva, Daniel Pereira Cristo Trio (winner of the Carlos Paredes prize 2018), 293 Diagonal, Canto Nono (concert in honor to José Mário Branco) and “The girl who didn’t fit into a square box” (a show for children).

The following weekend, from the 17th to the 19th, the program includes Phole Trio, Opus Trio, the duo María Vidal and Xisco Feijoó (Cantares no Camiño) and Samurai Magazine.

The program also includes several workshops led by some of the artists scheduled, dedicated to themes as varied as Galician Popular Dance and Song (with María Vidal and Xisco Feijoó), African Dance (with Isa Santos) and Traditional Portuguese Rhythms and Instruments (with Daniel Pereira Cristo).

The “Musical Pollination Cycle also includes walks, in partnership with the local association Ori-Coura Orientação, which invite the public to enjoy the richness of nature and the artistic programming of Paredes de Coura, at the same time”.
