Celebrate the arrival of Summer with the opening of the 2nd Grom store in Portugal

The authentic taste of Nature with GROM can now be enjoyed while enjoying the sunset, at Doca de Santo Amaro.

The idea came about in 2002, when the founders, Frederico Grom and Guido Martinetti, joined forces and opened the first ice cream shop in Turin, in northern Italy. The idea was simple: to make the best ice cream in the world, characterized by its fresh flavor and the absence of chemicals.

On July 3, 2018, directly from Italy to Lisbon, the idea comes to life in Portugal and the first GROM ice cream shop opens, on Rua Garrett. Since then, in this store, gelatos have been produced daily, allowing us to offer pure and authentic flavors such as pistachio, salted caramel, chocolate and the signature Crema di GROM, but also fresh and vegan options, which celebrate summer so much, such as strawberry, raspberry, mango or lemon.

Five years later, the brand continues to grow and opens its 2nd store, in a privileged location, facing the river, in Doca de Santo Amaro. The architecture of this 2nd store started from the simplicity of a cube that, when opened, establishes a relationship with the outside and, once closed, returns to its volume. The selected materials are inspired by natural elements, such as wood and marble, more contemporary and noble, thus integrating the old and the new. Finally, the white and blue tones reflect the nautical identity of Doca de Santo Amaro, the GROM brand and its backdrop, the Tagus River.

With gluten-free flavors, without artificial colors or preservatives, the new GROM brings a little more of Italy to the hearts of the Portuguese, just in time for summer. While at Loja do Chiado, customers are mostly tourists, the brand believes that this new location will allow it to reach more Portuguese people, providing them with unique moments that they will certainly want to repeat.

In the new store you can enjoy classics such as creamy, refreshing and authentic gelatos, to cool drinks such as water or milk frappès with gelato, perfect for hot days. You can also delight in the wide range of affogatos or enjoy crepes, made right in front of you. For GROM, eating gelato is an experience that should be enjoyed, calmly, and this 2nd space will allow customers to “visit” Italy, without leaving Lisbon.
