Seixal at the forefront of implementing PRR funds in Greater Lisbon

The Municipality of Seixal is in first place, in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area, in terms of the global implementation of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) and in third place, nationally, in terms of the support program for access to housing.

The information regarding the execution of the PRR, with regard to all components, contained in the PRR Monitoring Report in Intermunicipal Communities, from the National PRR Monitoring Commission, reveals that, in the first quarter of 2024, the Municipality of Seixal has already 48.8% of investments executed, which demonstrates a percentage much higher than the AML average: 26.9%.

More response in primary health care, new equipment and social responses, integrated operations in disadvantaged communities, cultural networks and digital transition, installation and modernization of specialized technology centers, creation of stable jobs and adult qualifications, decarbonization of industry and public transport , energy efficiency, reformulation of public and consular services, training and digital transition are some of the areas of investment by the PRR in the municipality of Seixal.

At a national level, the municipality of Seixal is the third municipality that received the most funds from the PRR for the support program in access to housing. More than 16 million euros have already been paid, of the approximately 32 million euros foreseen, for the acquisition and rehabilitation of the public housing stock, enabling more residents to have access to a right enshrined in the Constitution of the Portuguese Republic: decent housing.
