Registration is now open for the fourth edition of the Rewilding Photo Contest nature photography competition. The organization maintains the four categories (Fauna, Flora and Fungi, Landscapes with natural habitats and Young Photographer, a category aimed at young people up to 25 years old), as well as monetary prizes for the first three classified in each category.

The competition, informs Rewilding Portugal, has as its main objective “to promote Portuguese natural heritage” and its respective “valorization and protection”, through nature photography as a means of making known “the magnificent ecosystems and respective species of fauna and wild flora” that exist in Portugal.

Registration in the competition is free, and each participant can submit a photo for each of the categories foreseen — until the end of June 1st.

The organization makes it clear that “photographs that deal with domesticated species will not be accepted”, just as “photographs of animals that are subject to captivity will not be accepted”.

The public announcement of the winners will take place on August 15th and the award ceremony will take place during Naturcôa, in Sabugal.

The first placed receive 250 euros, the second placed 150 euros and the third placed 75 euros as a prize.
