The town of Ponte de Lima is preparing for a new edition of the International Garden Festival, which will take place between the months of May and October 2024.

With the theme, “The Imaginary in the Art of Gardens”, the jury has already selected the 11 new proposals for the competition.

“The internationally distinguished and award-winning event focuses on revitalizing urban spaces, preserving the environment and promoting good practices in the use of gardens”, noted the municipality.

The International Garden Festival “is a sustainable project” that gives importance “to creativity and the expression of innovative ideas” and asserts itself from year to year “as a national and international reference in the art of gardens and in the deep connection with the preservation of the heritage and environmental protection”.

The new gardens join the most voted project from the previous year’s edition – “Viva la Vida” by landscape architect Victoria Magnano.

The proposals selected by the jury for the 19th edition of the International Garden Festival are:

– Constellation of Imagination, Poland

– The Sea of Sand, France

– Jardim Intenção Paradoxal, Brazil

– The Portal of Senses, Portugal/France

– Plein Air Garden, Hungary

– Nordics in Portugal, Denmark

– Jardín del Leteo, Spain

– Inner Eye, Germany/Switzerland

– The Imaginary Asian Childhood Dream, Austria/China

– Image(s) In’Air, Portugal

– Jardim da Moura, England

As in previous editions, the jury has already chosen the theme for the year 2025, and thus the 2025 International Garden Festival will address the theme “Garden of Peace – Garden for Peace”.
