Social reintegration technicians from Coimbra protest against insecurity and lack of working conditions

-

Social reintegration technicians demonstrated in Coimbra against the lack of working conditions. They complain, for example, of insecurity in educational centers where young people are admitted and say that the services are using unqualified staff.

The work should be in the hands of social reintegration technicians, but with so few professionals in the career, on a daily basis, this is not what happens.

In educational centers, they are replaced by employees from security companies when working with young people who are carrying out guardianship measures.

They should also prepare social reports sent to court, a task that is being handed over to those without qualifications.

The lack of security and the recent episode in which a technician was attacked by one of the young people who, contrary to what happened until now, have not yet been transferred to another educational center were not forgotten in the protest outside the Olivais Educational Center.

Professionals also demand a career review, a process in which they already had a calendar agreed with the previous Government.

Without a response from the new minister, they promise to maintain the protests and will go on strike at the end of the month.
