SB Alportel hosts International Archery Festival promoting sport and inclusion

The Núcleo de Arqueiros Marafados Association of São Brás de Alportel will hold another renowned and international event on the 18th and 19th of May with the organization of the International Archery Festival.

The program begins on Saturday, the 18th, at Campo Sousa Uva, from União Desportiva e Recreativa Sambrasense, with a two-round Open, whose first round of archery in a frame at 30 meters on the grass field, will be followed by an interval, the second round being on the synthetic grass field with Field and 3D targets.

In a large area of ​​great activity exploration, there will also be an archery area for the general public, with various types of bows and targets, for example, Medieval archery and Crossbow. Another area of ​​the grass field offers an Archery Tag area for active Paintball-style archery and a leisure area for adults and children.

This will be a unique event held in the Algarve and even in the country, offering activities that are adaptable to any athlete. The promotion of physical exercise and social inclusion is an increasingly urgent topic these days and the initiative of this association is therefore to be commended, which will allow for the integration of close to a hundred athletes over two days.

Archery is one of the oldest Olympic sports practiced by man, on the rise in our country, with representation across borders.

The Southern Rehabilitation and Medicine Center will be present with users with mobility disabilities to practice Adapted Archery and also Archery on horseback.

In addition to the activities mentioned, there is also a craft fair, shopkeepers and archers specializing in the aforementioned modality. For entertainment there will be live music with a local band, street entertainment and a varied dining area.

On the 19th the Festival will continue, but at Espaço Monte dos Marafados on the Alportel site in São Brás de Alportel with the 15th Standart 3D Archery Tournament, with entertainment and food and drinks. The event ends with the delivery of souvenirs to all archers and participants in the Festival.
